About the Institute
An independent institute for education, research, technology and innovation
The Lo Presti Institute works with professionals, public bodies and organisations who want rigorous, practical learning that fits around real working lives.
The Lo Presti Institute was established in late 2025 in Scotland, United Kingdom, with an ambitious global vision encompassing education, research, technology and innovation. It aspires to serve as a point of reference for local, national and international communities alike — a high-level strategic hub dedicated to delivering meaningful and impactful contributions.
A message from our founder
At the Lo Presti Institute we hold a firm conviction that education, research, technology and innovation constitute essential instruments for creating, building and shaping both the present and the future. Through these means, it is possible to transform and enhance the everyday lives of our communities at the local, national and global levels. It was this conviction that led me to establish the Lo Presti Institute.
The Lo Presti Institute is a registered charity and a non-profit organisation, founded not for commercial purposes, but with the aim of contributing to the betterment of society and leaving a positive and enduring impact through our work. Passion, love, faith and trust are the core values that define and guide our mission.
Dr Gaetano Lo Presti, Founder and Director
Vision and mission
Our vision is to become a globally recognised institution fostering innovation and social progress.
Our mission:
- To advance education and innovation locally, with impact globally.
- To advance interdisciplinary research that addresses local and global challenges.
- To empower communities at home while contributing to global progress.
- To create local change that drives worldwide benefit.
We pursue that mission through four strands:
- Education. Deliver education to the widest possible audience, online and in person, through innovative pedagogy, contributing to a more informed and culturally enriched society.
- Research. Conduct research, foster an international research community and develop concrete solutions for society.
- Technology. Develop advanced technological systems, simple and complex, that support progress and enhance quality of life.
- Innovation. Turn research and technology into practice that communities and organisations can actually use.
More than education: projects and partnerships
The Institute is not only a place to study. Education, research, technology and innovation come together in projects — local and international — designed to help and improve our communities.
- Community projects. We design and deliver projects with a direct, practical benefit for communities at home and abroad — from education and skills initiatives to work that supports wellbeing, inclusion and civic life.
- Collaborations. We work with institutions, organisations, public bodies and other charities that share our aims, in the United Kingdom and internationally.
- Research that acts. Our research is not published and forgotten: findings become recommendations, publications and projects that address local and global challenges.
- Technology and innovation. We build and support technological systems that enhance quality of life and help partner organisations work better.
If your organisation or community would like to work with us on a project, write to info@loprestiinstitute.com.
Our anthem
The Institute's identity is expressed not only through its work, but also through its own music. The Lo Presti Institute Official Anthem — composed for the Institute and released under its name — is available on all major digital music stores and on YouTube.
What makes us different
- Fully online. Every programme is designed for distance study — no campus, no relocation, no fixed timetable.
- Professional, not theoretical. Our awards are built with practitioners, for practitioners.
- Open by design. We assess potential and experience, not just prior certificates.
- Research-led. Teaching is informed by our own applied research and by the Lo Presti Journal.
Our values
Passion, love, faith and trust are the core values that define and guide our mission. Integrity, independence, accessibility and public benefit guide every decision we take — from how we design a programme to how we support a learner and run a project.
Governance
The Institute is a registered Scottish charity (SC054768) and a non-profit organisation, governed by its board of trustees. Academic standards are overseen by our academic team, supported by external subject specialists.
