Research
Research at the Institute
We conduct applied research, foster an international research community and develop concrete solutions for society.
Our approach
Research at the Institute is applied: it begins with a problem that an organisation, a public body or a community actually faces, and ends with something that can be used. Findings feed directly into our teaching, so learners work with current evidence rather than settled textbook material.
Research areas
- Security, policing and regulation
- Education, learning technology and innovation
- Public policy, institutions and governance
- Health, wellbeing and community practice
- Data, applied artificial intelligence and decision-making
Research feeds teaching
Every award at the Institute is informed by our own research and by the work we publish in the Lo Presti Journal. At the higher awards, learners carry out supervised research of their own.
Publications
The Institute publishes research and policy work under its own imprint and through the Lo Presti Journal. Our academic books are published free of charge — we manage editing, design, production and worldwide distribution, and authors donate their royalties to the Institute so they can be reinvested in research and community projects.

Working with the Institute
We welcome partnerships with public bodies, charities, universities and organisations — on research, on publications and on community projects. If you would like to propose a project, supervise, or collaborate with us, write to info@loprestiinstitute.com.
