Maria Lye Gargar Hurtado

Maria Lye is a PhD Candidate in Research within the School of Education and Social Science. She holds a BSc in Psychology and a BA in Business and Management, and brings extensive professional experience from the non-profit sector. Her work has focused on advancing equality, inclusion, and wellbeing across diverse and marginalised communities. Ms Maria Lye currently serves as a Board Member of NLMWA and as Project Support Officer at the West of Scotland Regional Equality Council (WSREC), where she supports initiatives promoting the wellbeing and social inclusion of vulnerable minority ethnic communities. She is co-founder and trustee of the Lo Presti Institute of Research, Technology, and Innovation.
